Nestled in the folds of the Mendip Hills, The Pig Hotel near Bath is a charming countryside retreat in the heart of rural Somerset.
Complete with onsite vegetable patch, pigs and chickens, anything that can not be foraged or found within the grounds is sourced from local suppliers within a 25 mile radius.
Food is served in the greenhouse restaurant, there is a well stocked bar with various home made infusions (I had a great bloody mary with horseradish vodka) and numerous drawing rooms and lounge areas with roaring fires and comfy arm chairs to relax in.
Rooms are decorated in signature shabby chic style with beautiful stripped back floorboards, some with four poster beds and claw foot baths and Bamford body products.
To get a true sense of the area pull on some wellies and take a walk a little further afield, we took the 2 hour pub walk to nearby local The Compton Inn.
